What will happen on my first visit?

During your first visit you will meet with our chiropractor for a physical examination in order to properly assess your health status. Be prepared to answer questions related to your health hystory as those can be crucial in determining your future treatment. Treatment can also begin on your first visit, unless futher diagnostic tests are needed.

Will I need X-Rays?

Majority of our patients do not require x-rays to have their conditions treated effectively. However, if necessary, a Chiropractor can provide you with a referral form for X-rays to be ordered in order to rule out serious conditions.

Do insurance companies cover treatments at TMC?

Yes. The majority of employees in Toronto and GTA have partial or full coverage for Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy and Acupuncture through their workplace health plans. OHIP does not cover these services (unless you are under the age of 19 or over the age of 65). Our clients are always provided with a detailed itemized receipt listing the services provided, the credentials of the TMC practitioners, as well as payment details for reimbursement.

Can I get chiropractic care if I've had back surgery?

Yes, you can! Your chiropractor will avoid areas of your spine surgically modified. However, surgery often causes instability above or below the involved level. These "reactions" will be the focus of your chiropractic care.

How long will it take before I feel better?

Some patients experience almost instant relief. Others discover it can take months, sometimes years. Every patient recovers at their own pace. Factors that can affect your healing process include your age, your overall health condition, muscle tone, diet and even your attitude.

Do I need a referral in order to be treated at TMC?

Some insurance companies require a note from a physician for reimbursement purposes. Check with your insurance provider to see whether you need to have a referral note.
